Prenatal Appt

We had a really great pre-natal appointment today Carrson got to go with us since we didnt have childbirth class and he was so excited to "play kelly's choo choos" but there was another little girl there playing so he quickly set up all his trains and then started playing with the other little girl, he is learning how to share so we have to watch him close while he plays, but he is getting there trying to figure out the "rules of play" he really is an easy going kiddo so we are thankful for that, it makes it easier to "discipline" him, we use gentle discipline, so no hands hitting him ever, but he really doesnt even make me want to swat his hiney, so i'm pretty thankful for that :D

so on with the update Paisleys heart rate was 154- first time she has fit the old wives tale of being a girl the ENTIRE pregnancy, my fundal (top of pubic bone to top of uterus) was 31.5 so thats good, her legs are out of her face which i knew cause she has appendages sticking out every where LOL and i'm up another 5 lbs, which OFFICIALLY puts me at 1 lb below what I delivered Carrson at....eek, lets face it i know i can afford the weight but its going everywhere except my stomach! my butt, my upper thighs, my back-HELLO love handles haha we'll see what decides to stick around after I have her, but I'm not worried about what does decide to stick around, its been nice people not looking at me thinking i'm either a crack addict or an anorexic...people think they can just ask you anything ugh!

We discussed our post partum hemorrhage that we experienced with Carrson (not in the hospital AT HOME 11 days after he was born!) this has been the hot topic ever since our first visit of how to prevent that from happening again, so we've developed a plan.
1st. no one is going to TOUCH our placenta until it delievers itself just like its supposed to do, no pulling, no tugging, NO nothing! thank god I'm actually very relived about this
2nd. a shot of pitocin AFTER the placenta does come out to help the uterus contract back down quicker in order to prevent a half a$$ job of it contracting back down and then we have a problem like last time.
3rd. a shot of methergen this will also force the contracting of my uterus back down as well as my cervix to close back up, because not only was my uterus not fully contracted back down last time because of whatever reason (no one really knows, all we have are guesses) but my cervix was still dilated to some extent (maybe to let the clots out?) so all this should not of happened 11 days later, but it did, and the chances of it happening again are really slim but this is Rusty's biggest concern and rightfully so.
So while I'm confident that it wont happen again I respect my husband for being concerned about the possibility of it happening, especially with how close he was to loosing me last time :( So I'm doing it for him, and for me and our family of course but this is mostly for him, me doing whatever I can do to make him comfortable. He has no issue at all with labor/delivery/new baby etc, he is actually really excited about that part his main concern is another post partum hemorrhage. But another plus is we know EXACTLY what to look for this time and wont ignore the signs out of ignorance ever again :D So I'm 99% confident that even if a hemorrhage does happen again it at least wont get to the point where my life is in jeopardy.

I think thats it from the appointment oh, I've added 3 pills to my regimen (13 pills total), i'm now taking a prenatal supplement with omega 3's and fatty acids and fish oil, which is great for a mood enhancer and brain development. I'll have to upload a picture of all my pills lol its quite comical, this baby better have the best developed placenta you've ever seen! haha but yes I take 13 pills daily they are all natural and organic and the ingredients are all food based so definitely good for you, no extra additives. so here is a list of what i take:
1 vitamin C complex
2 vitamin B complex (to help me with protein absorption and folic acid absorption)
3 prenatal vitamins with probiotics in them
2 probiotic pills (probiotics is the good stuff in yogurt) this is just super amounts
2 magnesium/calcium pills to help ward off the leg cramps
3 prenatal omega fatty acid, etc pills
so thats all 13 of them :) its really not a big deal once you get used to it and i really feel like its beneficial so i dont mind it :) anyway i'll upload that pic later :D until next week....

32 weeks

What a weekend! The baby shower was fantastic! I had a wonderful time and loved spending time with all my family and friends that came for the shower it was an amazing time! Little Paisley has a lot of people who can't wait to meet her! and I can't wait to dress her in her new stuff and wrap her in her new blankets and snuggle away!! I'm never going to put her down I swear!

so pregnancy symptom of the week is LEG CRAMPS AKA CHARLIE HORSES ouchie ouchie ouch! They have been happening lately and its usually only in one leg but they have been happening every-night! thank god only once a night but it hurts! Guess it gives me a good chance to practice relaxing while in pain AKA labor...lol I try to relax every muscle in my body and take nice deep slow breaths until it goes away, its been working but whew, we got some icy hot at the store and i'm going to try rubbing that on there tonight before i go to bed with hopefully a nice massage from rusty and we'll see how that works, i've also been taking magnesium to help it but i'm going to get some better magnesium supplement when i go see the midwife on Tuesday.

Hiccups, she has the hiccups ALL the time seriously at least 4 or more times a day its cute but poor thing, I feel so bad for her I know it annoys me when I have them I can only imagine what she thinks :(

The braxton hicks contractions have really picked up too, I have really been trying to increase my water intake to ward them off. I know some are normal but I feel like they are all the time now, especially if I've had a busy day with a lot of activity, or i'm up and down with carrson doing things with him, but i guess all in all its just getting my uterus ready for labor anyway right.

We have our 32 week appointment with the midwife on Tuesday so I'll either update when we get home or the next morning :)

2nd childbirth class

We had our 2nd childbirth class at the birthcenter tonight and first thing i did when I walked in the door was go to the bathroom and well the scale was in there so i just HAD to step on it......why did i do that to my self! lol it was already up 5 lbs since last visit and that was ONE week ago, but since it wasn't an official prenatal visit I'm not writing it down! PLUS we had just eaten dinner and dessert AND it was 7:00 at night so I'm just calling it a fluke...especially because it was 1 pound away from my delivery weight with Carrson...EEK! But I'm really not worried about it, even if I complain about it, it really doesnt bother me that bad because in the grand scheme of things #1 we get a healthy baby girl out of it, #2 I have a wonderful husband who couldnt care less how much I weighed and would prefer I have a hiney and some things ;) and #3 I know with Breastfeeding it will come off :)

so on about the birthclass.....IT WAS WONDERFUL we are so pumped and excited about our upcoming homebirth we can hardly stand our selves! God designed us perfectly and will never give us more than we can handle, even if it does hurt for a little bit, but thats when the loving hands of a husband, a mother, and a midwife, or team of midwives are there to support you and love you and make you feel safe and warm and cozy :) I'm really excited and can't wait for our little baby girl to get here! I'm not scared AT ALL of anything, anything you can think of I know that our midwives will be able to handle it and our bodies were made to birth babies and I have complete faith in my body and God that I too can do it. No warrior, no soldier, no special super woman powers, or anything crazy like that just comfort, calmness, and surrounded by loving family and friends is all I am after. We talked about different comforting techniques, labor positions, my favorite BREASTFEEDING I love breastfeeding so much, I wish I could physically help everyone who needed it and wanted it. It can be so scary and unknown for first time moms, and everything that comes along with it in those first few months and its just not fair to not have every ounce of help right at your fingertips, and dr.'s and even some LC's (lacataion "consultants") are just not as knowledgeable as they could be :( But I'm so excited to be bringing a new nursling in to this house and just can't wait. Its only been 3 months since I last nursed....thats right Carrson JUST weaned in January :D and I'm very proud of everything he got from me, I'm not embarrassed by it in the least and dont care what anyone else thinks especially if you have never nursed a child before...anyway I've already forgotten I feel like what its like to hold a nursing baby so I CAN'T WAIT!!

Our next prenatal is (32 weeks) Tues 3/31 (Happy Birthday Aunt Dee-Doo, Rusty's Sister) at 5:00 pm. We also have our baby shower this saturday 3/28 and I have another pre-natal massage on monday 3/29 I can't wait!

maternity shoot

31 weeks!

31 weeks is here?! Our shower is next weekend I'm really excited!! I can't believe that its time for that either! Physically I'm pretty good, she just is low and feels really heavy and I can imagine that feeling is just going to get worse as the weeks go on especially because 80% of the time she is still folded in half so every limb is under my belly button I have all sorts of appendages in my hips ;)rarely do i get any kicks above my belly button, well rarely do i get any kicks at all she just rolls around all the time now and is getting stronger for sure! I'm getting a lot slower, especially when carrson is running from me, oh i HATE when he runs from me, he is getting better about it now but the other day he got a good run in, guess he thought i could use the exercise (rolling my eyes). I feel a lot bigger it may not look like that but i can feel my uterus pressing into my ribs now, although unlike with Carrson no feet are involved in the rib action yet thank goodness ;)

2nd week of birth class is tomorrow I'm really excited to go back, have I said a million times I love my midwife or not!! lol I LOVE THE MIDWIVES AT HEARTS DESIRE!! I'll update tomorrow with how that went.

we took our maternity pictures yesterday and they turned out SO good! I put them up on my facebook account

30 week pre-natal and 1st childbirth class

30 week prenatal

It went really well we did a hemoglobin test to make sure thats all good and everything is good! right where I need to be :) Baby's heartrate was 126 bpm..she must of been sleeping ;) her positioning is good head down and hiney on my right and spine along my right side and......legs by her head LOL, as soon as she is born we are going to have to fold her up just so she is happy ;) other than that i'm up another 5 lbs which is good, with as fast as it came off with carrson i'm not worried about that at all, thankfully we also had our first child birth class.

The first childbirth class was part 1 of 2 and for 2 hours we talked about everything thats going to happen and we felt really good and confident leaving there even rusty said he is really excited and feeling good about the whole labor/birthing process this time around. sure its going to be tough but i dont imagine screaming for 10 hours straight or anything like that ;) plus i know what to expect and i've been mentally preparing for a long time now for a natural birth so i think the right mind set has me on the right track to a nice drama free birth...i didnt say pain free, just drama free, i dont expect to be screaming like a maniac :) Screaming wont do anything for the contractions anyway except make you tense up and increase your chances of tearing so I'm been working a lot on the mental part of this whole birth thing and hopefully it pays off! i'm looking really forward to it anyway, but of course no one knows how it will go until it happens, but i'm looking forward to a healthy baby and a happy birth story!

Part 2 of birth class is next monday and then our next prenatal is at 32 weeks on the day of our baby shower 3-28 :)

30 weeks!!

30 weeks is here...wowowowowowowowow!!!!! We spent a long time out and about yesterday running around, the mall, old navy, target and by the time we got home I could barely move! I felt like it was the first time I'd worked out for off season or something I was so sore, I'm sure I got that way with Carrson too at some point I just dont remember exactly when that was. I have noticed Paisley moving around SO much more now, I dont think the frequency has changed as much as the intensity I feel like she is trying to be spread eagle all the time, I'll feel her punch my right hip and then in the same movement kick up under my left breast, she is a crazy little girl in there and her movements are starting to make me stop in my tracks, it definitely feels like she is getting bigger in there and starting to realize that mommy is not a big person and she is trying to figure out how to get comfortable in there again with not a lot of room. All the weekly pregnancy updates say that this week, week 30 she is about 15 inches long and about 3 lbs. Thats not too shabby! now just try to imagine that in my belly LOL. I got a comment the other day of "Megan how long do you have left?" I said, " about 10 weeks" , "wow, 10 weeks, wow" I think the person saying this was wondering exactly how a baby could fit 10 more weeks in my belly, lol, but I assure you I can Carrson was in till 39 weeks 2 days and he was 7 lbs 5 oz, so that is a good size baby for me, and I have a feeling she'll be AT LEAST the same size if not bigger just from the way I feel now, but I know thats not the best estimate, just a feeling, but as we get further along Kelly will be able to tell me a more accurate estimate based on "palpation" when she feels the baby, which can still be off of course, but in all reality it doesnt matter to me how big this baby is because I know my body will not grow a baby that I can not birth! Fat squishes and babies bones are flexible so I'm not concerned in the least with the size of this baby at all!
The last 10 weeks for me are always the longest so I've got some things to look forward to in the next few weeks in this order....30 week prenatal and child birth class starts! Child birth Class is 2 Classes at 2 hours a piece and there is one this monday and one next monday. On the 28th is our baby shower I'm so excited!! April 12 is easter! April 15th is our nieces birthday! April 25th is our neices' birthday party! May 8th is our youngest nieces birthday and then May 12th my cousins will be coming through town, so there is A LOT going on between now and then so pretty much PAISLEY WILL BE IN OUR ARMS SOOOOOO SOON!!

29 weeks!

I'm a few days later than normal on this weeks update but we've had a SUPER busy weekend I can't believe its monday already! My grandmother was in town from Louisiana all last week so Carrson and I had fun with her. Friday night we went to Joe T. Garcias....YUMMY! sometimes I forget that place is even there! I LOVE the fajitas there and the rice YUMMY!!! all that was missing was a nice margarita on the rocks but that will have to wait till Late May/ Early June depending on when Paisley decides she wants her birthday to be ;)

The night before that, Thursday, a friend and I went to a REALLY big second hand sale at Amon Carter its called Just Between Friends I picked up the pillow, which i LOVE, and I also got a My Breast Friend Pillow for nursing which only cost me $10 and a girly boppy cover for the boppy I already had with Carrson, I'm so excited to try out the Breast Friend Pillow its the one that all the lactation consultants recommend but its dang near $50 brand new so i'm excited its all washed and ready to go! I also picked up a few bows from a private vendor that were cheaper than anyone else I could find but I'm seriously thinking about making my own I've looked up a trusty "how to" on You Tube and it definitely looks like something I could handle so easy! and it would be so much cheaper and the better I got at it maybe I could sell them...I'll let yall know how it turns out and what I decide to do.

Saturday we went to Hobby Lobby and Babies R Us and just had fun in those stores for a while, her room is just too cute! Thank You Memaw!! On Sunday my friend and I went BACK to the JBF sale at Amon Carter for the HALF PRICE SALE as if everything wasnt cheap enough already whatever was left over (Hello Girls Clothes) was half off! Carrson went with me to this since Rusty was out playing flag football so I only made it down two rows (packed with mothers and other strollers) but really got a lot of stuff, she has so many clothes she probably wont even get to wear it all :( I'm sure even Carrson didnt get to wear everything, some things he wore only once :( I even picked up two summer maternity tops for ME! half price can't beat it! Yesterday, Monday which is also part of our weekend cause Rusty has the day off was PACKED! we slept in just a little bit, trying to adjust to the time change, then it was breakfast at McDonalds (yummy mc griddle and orange juice!) and then grocery shopping at Wal Mart YUCK! I decorated some picture frames for Paisleys room and they are cute I've having lots of fun decorating her room! but i'm running out of space lol so will have to slow down soon!! We STILL have to paint and yes I have AT LEAST 11 weeks left but I'm not going to want to do much of anything from from about 35 weeks on much less paint furniture! but maybe that can be the plan for next weekend!

We've had a cram packed weekend and we are TIRED still today is all I know ;) I've got the pictures from 29 weeks coming a little later

My huge wonderful maternity pillow

this pillow is HUGE! its in the shape of a U with a curved pillow up top and two regular size body pillows on either side of it. Sleeping last night with my pillow was awesome, awesome, awesome! I'm so glad I found the good deal on it, I paid only $10 for it at a 2nd hand sale we had here in Fort Worth called "just between friends" they have a website and travel all over the place. We also got the curtain rod today at lowes for Paisleys room so once we get the curtain hung up i'll update pics of her room.

28 weeks!

Well we've known about our little GIRL for 4 days now and her room has already transformed so much! I'm going to take pictures of everything and upload them on here so you can see. She has a lamp and a pillow from her bedset, wall decorations, shelves hung, her name on the wall and a closet full of cute little clothes and some adorable headbands! I'm about 95% sure she wont have any hair so i found the cutest headband that you can just switch out the hair clips on top CUTE!

I'm feeling pretty good, not hurting too much, had a little episode the other night that was pretty painful i felt like she was trying to dig her way out through my cervix and I couldnt even stand up all the way it hurt so bad but overall I've been feeling pretty good, Drinking lots of water, the lady who did the 3d sonogram said my fluid levels were awesome. A few braxton hicks contractions here and there some are stronger than others but overall just a very full of movement little girl in there! My belly feels smaller this week I'm not sure if she has changed positions or what but of course i'll post those pics when I post the others. We dont have another midwife appt until March 16 and that will be our first childbirth class too but as of last saturday her heart rate was 146bpm so thats about her "normal" range. anyway Thats about all for this week I'll post the pics soon!
