We had our 2nd childbirth class at the birthcenter tonight and first thing i did when I walked in the door was go to the bathroom and well the scale was in there so i just HAD to step on it......why did i do that to my self! lol it was already up 5 lbs since last visit and that was ONE week ago, but since it wasn't an official prenatal visit I'm not writing it down! PLUS we had just eaten dinner and dessert AND it was 7:00 at night so I'm just calling it a fluke...especially because it was 1 pound away from my delivery weight with Carrson...EEK! But I'm really not worried about it, even if I complain about it, it really doesnt bother me that bad because in the grand scheme of things #1 we get a healthy baby girl out of it, #2 I have a wonderful husband who couldnt care less how much I weighed and would prefer I have a hiney and some things ;) and #3 I know with Breastfeeding it will come off :)
so on about the birthclass.....IT WAS WONDERFUL we are so pumped and excited about our upcoming homebirth we can hardly stand our selves! God designed us perfectly and will never give us more than we can handle, even if it does hurt for a little bit, but thats when the loving hands of a husband, a mother, and a midwife, or team of midwives are there to support you and love you and make you feel safe and warm and cozy :) I'm really excited and can't wait for our little baby girl to get here! I'm not scared AT ALL of anything, anything you can think of I know that our midwives will be able to handle it and our bodies were made to birth babies and I have complete faith in my body and God that I too can do it. No warrior, no soldier, no special super woman powers, or anything crazy like that just comfort, calmness, and surrounded by loving family and friends is all I am after. We talked about different comforting techniques, labor positions, my favorite BREASTFEEDING I love breastfeeding so much, I wish I could physically help everyone who needed it and wanted it. It can be so scary and unknown for first time moms, and everything that comes along with it in those first few months and its just not fair to not have every ounce of help right at your fingertips, and dr.'s and even some LC's (lacataion "consultants") are just not as knowledgeable as they could be :( But I'm so excited to be bringing a new nursling in to this house and just can't wait. Its only been 3 months since I last nursed....thats right Carrson JUST weaned in January :D and I'm very proud of everything he got from me, I'm not embarrassed by it in the least and dont care what anyone else thinks especially if you have never nursed a child before...anyway I've already forgotten I feel like what its like to hold a nursing baby so I CAN'T WAIT!!
Our next prenatal is (32 weeks) Tues 3/31 (Happy Birthday Aunt Dee-Doo, Rusty's Sister) at 5:00 pm. We also have our baby shower this saturday 3/28 and I have another pre-natal massage on monday 3/29 I can't wait!

I think it's awesome that you're doing a home birth, you've done so much research you could seriously be a midwife girl! And you're right about not having enough info about breastfeeding, I really wish I had stuck with it.
ReplyDeletemaybe one day linz, i'll get enough courage to be a midwife i sure would love that :D
